How to deliver the best employee experience

Unsociable hours, increased workload and pay not matching the job were the top reasons given by employees to explain current staff crisis in hospitality in a recent survey by Peach 20/20 partners Harri and CGA. They were also the key issues addressed in a special webinar with industry leaders hosted by Harri and chaired by Peach 20/20 founder Peter Martin.

Bringing their perspectives and solutions to the table as webinar panelists were: Dawn Browne, People & Talent Director at Fuller, Smith & Turner; Jaclyn Ryan, People Experience Manager at Tenpin; Will Beckett, CEO & Co-Founder of Hawksmoor; and Simon Maguire, Managing Director at Luxury Family Hotels. 

Front-line teams were feeling under increased pressure post-pandemic, with industry staff shortages a major contributor, and one of the key themes of the webinar discussion was that although retention was the key focus it was intimately linked to recruitment. Seeing companies recruit effectively helped existing staff feel better about their own situation was the argument.

The panel also discussed other themes from the latest Harri and CGA report, Transforming The Employee Experience In Hospitality, including the issues of flexibility (and what it means in a hospitality context), appreciation and the role of technology.
