How the UK, USA and APAC are leading global restaurant and bar trends
At the recent Atlantic Club London Dinner, Harrison CEO Keith Anderson presented the 2024 food trends in the UK, USA, and Asia Pacific countries. Read on for a summary of the key takeaways…
UK: Sustainable practices are here to stay in the UK, where 64% of consumers are willing to pay more for eco-friendly, locally sourced ingredients. Add in the growing demand for ready-to-eat meals and premium, artisan products, and it’s clear – UK customers are all about quality, convenience, and taking care of our planet.
USA: Health-conscious eating is here to stay, with 53% of US consumers focusing on wellness when it comes to food. Meanwhile, fusion flavours are shaking up the scene, offering exciting new combos that are boosting millennial interest in dining out. And let's not forget the immersive, pop-culture-inspired experiences, where food and fashion collide.
APAC: In Asia Pacific countries, the future of food blends heritage with innovation, capturing the hearts of 48% of consumers who love both modern and traditional elements. Immersive dining is all the rage, offering unforgettable, story-driven meals. And if you're looking for speed without compromise, cocktails on tap are shaking up the bar scene with quality and convenience.
“We also heard how Gordon Ramsay Restaurants is adapting its high-end offer for the mid-market in cities not normally on the roll-out map, with Ramsay’s Kitchen in Oklahoma City” says Peach 20/20 and Atlantic Club co-founder Peter Martin.
“And it was fascinating to see how APAC is a region now making a real mark with restaurant innovation. We really do live in a global market.”
